Irene has left us. The damage: branches all over the yard, and one of the backyard gates tore off its hinges. All in all, could've been a lot worse.

Reporting in again: Still got power, still got internet, storm's not much worse than a standard big storm. According to the Weather Channel map and predictions, the eye is just going over Virginia Beach and will pass well east of us. Irene is still hanging out in North Carolina, chugging its way sloooooowly up the coast. We've got wind and rain right now, but not more than usual.
